Drafts

You have found the unpublished garden notes. These are works in progress that are not yet ready for public viewing. It is helpful for me to have a separate space to develop ideas before sharing them in the main garden.

List of ideas

  • Media literacy (why a media product is made, to whom it is being sold, and the assumed preferences of its marketing demographic, narrative is not produced or sold in a vacuum) + Cognitive biases (confirmation bias, etc, etc) + the misconcept of randomness as seen in spotify shuffle + Who is more likely to fall for misinformation: the younger generation (insecure) vs the older generation (not media literate)
  • How we used to be able to break things on the internet
  • Looking for friction / learning to do hard things (complex puzzles, speaking in front of audience, having no distractions available, learning to draw) / challenging yourself
  • Childhood internet memories: Habbo Hotel, Neopets, Nintendo Games, that one fish game, Spele.nl
  • Stop the cool girl / more cringy is more good
  • The capitalism in social media detoxing: dumb phones, NFC chipped objects
  • Girl guide to how to use the terminal
  • Being the youngest person in the room / being the woman in the room
  • Women on the internet / women doing coding / women doing techy stuff
  • Demand avoidance theory / cognitive overload theory
  • Personality hire
  • Cyber security AND privacy
  • Code switching
  • When did we all become so performative - since we are being recorded at any time
  • My daily working flow/note
  • Stretching routine for mobility
  • Elevating my cooking skills
  • Thinking about a new schooling system / curiosity-driven learning / how to learn things
  • Why goodreads has such a terrible app design
  • The psychology of cults: why smart people join, the techniques that work on everyone
  • How your brain constructs time: not as linear as you think, why we remember some moments and not others.
  • The history of color: how we named colors, cultures that don't distinguish blue from green, language shapes wat we see
  • The effect of woman choosing mens surnames on female lineages and un-tracability
  • Methods of forensic investigations throughout the years
  • How cities are built: what neighborhoods make people happiest, does it matter if buildings have character, walkability and green/nature
  • Olifantenpaadjes
