Marrakech
Together with 5 friends, I started my Morocco trip in Marrakech. I didn't really know what to expect, but Marrakech was a lot. I thought it was more beautiful than I initially thought. The architecture is just amazing, and it's not only the architecture of some of the rich state buildings. It was also in all the details of the little shops in the souks in the old city. The streets are narrow and I can totally believe how people get lost here.
We spent 2 days in Marrakech. Not long enough to see everything we would have wanted to see, but it was long enough to get really get immersed in the culture for a bit.
Perfect to see all the spots and learn more about the city and culture
Quiet, good location and small-scale riad. Loved the breakfast and swimming pool.
Cheap and amazing taste

Agafay desert
In Marrakech, we rented a car (via SunnyCars) to go on our roadtrip to the coast. Our first stop for one night was the Agafay desert. The landscape gets more rough the closer you get to the desert. We had one of the best views here, and we really loved to get away from the city for a bit. It was quieter, more peaceful here.
Perfect get-away in the desert. Swimming pools and facilities are amazing. One of our favorite activities of the entire trip is the quad riding we did here!
Taghazout
After a 4-hour drive, we arrived in Taghazout. The village is small with loads of little stairs that go down to the beach. It is pretty, in a rough sense. The buildings are white and blue; the sea is clear; and you can probably see a fata morgana quite often when looking out on the ocean.
It has some trendy restaurants, and most of the village centers around surfing. But the beaches are also really nice to just chill. Drink some Moroccan tea, read a book.
